Versus Mode: GTA vs. Hit and Run

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a pretty awesome game. Your goal is to complete "missions" given to you by various people and the mob. These missions can include races, purchases, drug deals, and lots of other things. You can run around on foot, or drive around in various vehicles to get to where you need to go and do what it is you need to do. You can also drive around in other people's cars. As you run over things and cause mayhem, a little counter goes up. When this counter reaches it's maximum level, you are busted by the cops.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2) vs. The Simpsons: Hit and Run (GCN)

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a pretty awesome game.  Your goal is to complete “missions” given to you by various people and the mob.  These missions can include races, purchases, drug deals, and lots of other things.  You can run around on foot, or drive around in various vehicles to get to where you need to go and do what it is you need to do.  You can also drive around in other people’s cars.  vicesnAs you run over things and cause mayhem, a little counter goes up.  When this counter reaches it’s maximum level, you are busted by the cops.

Now, take that and rip out all the characters, and replace them with characters from The Simpsons.  Take the scenery and replace that with Simpsons stuff as well.  Then do the same for just about everything else in the game.  There.  Now you have the The Simpsons: Hit and Run.

Hit and Run is almost exactly the same game as Vice City.  If you knock over too much, you can get busted by the cops.  The multiplayer mode is extremely boring; it’s nothing but straight racing.  The game is pretty cool; the missions include cutting Tomacco, racing Burns and Smithers, racing Skinner, getting projects to Lisa, and all sorts of other fun stuff.  You get to play as Marge, Homer, Lisa, and Bart throughout the game.  You can also buy all sorts of cars throughout the game, as well as race with Millhouse, Nelson, or Ralph for the DMV.  You can also change your clothing.  The maps and layouts resemble the Springfield of the show, which gives it a nice tight plot.

In short, both games are exactly the same.  I declare The Simpsons: Hit and Run to be the winner, solely for comedic value.

Winner: The Simpsons: Hit and Run (GCN)
