Instead of just making sub-par RPGs, why not just port everything from SNES?

FFIV AdvanceMy Recommendation for GBA Game Developers of the Month:
Stop Making Crap and Just Port All of the SNES Games that I Like

Okay, I am sitting here spending all of my time after Christmas playing Final Fantasy IV, a game that I have played and replayed a bunch of times since something like 10 years ago when I had no idea it wasn’t really the second installment of the Final Fantasy series. As I am playing I wonder to myself, “why it is I am spending my time playing this particular game, when I have other GBA games I could be playing that I haven’t already beaten?”

The answer, obviously, is because FF4 is better than those gamesforget about it being my favorite of the FF series. This also brings to mind the fact that any given RPG on Super Nintendo is better than your average RPG on GBA. So why is it that people keep on making sub-par games? I know it’s easier to be lazy with the GBA than with other, non-portable systems that I’m guessing more people own or care about, and I’m certainly not saying people should stop being lazy. In fact, I am going to go ahead and encourage laziness, but in a different way.

Instead of just making sub-par RPGs, why not just port everything from SNES? Liiiiike Lufia 2 for instance…. Probably just as many people would buy the ports as would buy any other games and, depending on the game, more people would buy it than just any given RPG. Squeenix is doing a good job of porting their FF games to keep me occupied, but I could really do with a larger library of SNES games for my GBA.

Actually, to clarify that, I could really do with a larger library of good RPGs for GBA; but I don’t trust that anyone is going to make them since I have only seen a few that are up to the quality of the Super Nintendo ones I used to play. With the absence of anyone to make the good ones that I want, I would definitely appreciate people just giving up instead of making crap and giving me some SNES ports instead.
