I saw a sign for Wii Sports Resort the other day that says it is a totally awesome game that comes with TWELVE different sports everyone totally wants to play. The store didn’t have a playable demo of the game, but I managed to get a list of the twelve sports anyway. Here they are:

  • Golf
  • Bowling

Hmmm…those first two sound familiar, somehow.

  • Fencing
  • Frisbee
  • Archery
  • Basketball
  • Table tennis
  • Waterskiing
  • Driving a jet ski
  • Paddling a canoe
  • Riding a bicycle
  • Hang gliding

An interesting line-up, I guess. But besides from basketball, they don’t have any sports that most high schools have teams for, such as soccer or volleyball or football or water polo. And my favorite sport to play, hockey, isn’t included, but I figured it wouldn’t be.

I don’t know how you’re supposed to use the Wii-mote to simulate bike riding, because that’s a sport that mostly involves moving your legs, not your arms. Same with jet ski driving. I guess I’ll have to wait until I get my hands on a playable demo before I can tell you all what the controls are and how they work.
