Joystiq reports that GameCola’s wildest fantasies are coming true, and the good professor and the good lawyer will be teaming up to solve puzzles and fight crime on Nintendo’s upcoming 3D-enabled portable. More will be known tomorrow when the game’s official website launches, but for now, here’s a horrible-quality videoclip from the press conference anncouncing the game that doesn’t tell you much of anything:

Man, I don’t even LIKE Professor Layton, and I’m still pumped.
UPDATE: I’d like to point out that this game definitely doesn’t star Hobo Phoenix Wright, and it definitely DOES feature Phoenix hanging out with Maya, according to the screenshots. Apollo Justice was all just a dream…confirmed?
UPDATE 2: A few more details have surfaced, courtesy of Kotaku. The gameplay will involve contradiction-filled puzzles (no way!), and the game’s main villain will be some guy who can make things happen just by writing them. Also, the town is full of witches, and Phoenix Wright’s client is also accused of being a witch.
UPDATE 3: Great. Now I have to get a 3DS.
