Bayonetta Director Let’s-Playing His Own Game

bayonetta

Taking inspiration from both 14-year-olds and GameCola writers across the world, Hideki Kamiya, the director of Bayonetta, the 2010 game in which I’m pretty sure the main character has guns for feet, is recording his own video playthrough of his own game. You can check out the first three videos here on the Platinum Games blog, and if you keep refreshing that url, you should eventually see some more. (It just might take a while.)

Be forewarned: the videos are subbed, which means you’re in for some reading. Hopefully they didn’t let a computer write the transcriptions.

I didn’t actually play Bayonetta, but I’m in love with the idea of people let’s-playing their own games. It kinda reminds me of the commentary mode in games like Monkey Island 2: Special Edition or the upcoming Cthulhu Saves the World remake. Is there an online petition that I can sign asking for more of that?
