Not to be confused with Chippendales, I’m talking about Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, a not-so-popular TV show which spanned two decades (read: 1989 – 1990). The show involved a couple of chipmunks, a pair of mice, and a fly as they went around solving crime and being hypnotized by cheese. This was often deemed the worst of the quadfecta that includes Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, and Tale Spin.

But those other shows are mere footnotes now, because Chip ‘n Dale are getting their own Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game.

Now you’re playing with power. MMO Power.

The game is reportedly being developed by Bill Cosby for the Nintendo Entertainment System and will use similar networking technology to the Netflix Streaming Cartridge.

  1. “This was often deemed the worst of the quadfecta…” Brak, where did you get this…”information”?

I remember watching this as a Flash animation in college, before it came to YouTube, and my roommate and I thought it was the funniest thing. Somehow the gaming landscape has changed to the point where this doesn’t seem all that ridiculous anymore.

  2. I may have taken some liberties when I indicated it was the worst. It definitley had the worst theme song, and that usually makes or breaks the show.

Yeah, it looks like this got on YouTube by some guy doing a screengrab of him playing the flash video. Ahhh, the pre-YouTube days, where videos were so decentralized. Yet, College Humor and other sites still seem to linger on.
