  • What the Crap?: Your Money’s No Good Here

A wise man once said, "mo' money, mo' problems." This may be true in real life, but how does it stack up in videogames? Perhaps it would be better to say "mo' types of money, mo' problems." If you've

What the Crap?: Difficulty Settings and Modes

Why, cruel videogame industry, are we forced to play Goldilocks when sitting down to play our games? Games all have their own ideas of what Easy and Hard mean, have different rewards (and sometime none at all) for choosing a more difficult setting, and really produce a schism in groups of people who say they've beaten a game. I really don't care if you've beaten the game on "Super Easy," you shmuck!

  • What the Crap?: When This Baby Hits 88 MPH

  • What the Crap?: Silly Sports Scarcity

I know there isn't much sports chatter here @ GameCola, but sports games are a great chance for non-athletic types to juke, putt, dunk, slide tackle, punch, headbutt...whatever your taste may be. In the olden days, sports games weren't simulations; they were what started the idea of "arcade" style, meaning you could sit down with a group of people and play a sport in an unrealistic and fun way, but still stay true to the basic nature of the sport's rules. There's not really that many videogames that do this anymore, and I don't understand why. Such games have a wide audience of both sports fans and multiplayer-game fans, and they're so damn fun to play. If you want a realistic sports game, just watch a real-life sport!

  • What the Crap?: Voice Chat

Is this thing on? You bet your sweet ass it is. But for many, there isn't a "thing." For others, some use this thing as a boom box over their shoulder like it's the 1980s, or they use it to be racist

  • What the Crap?: Street Fighter the Movie the Game the Article the Sequel?

There are so many videogame name conundrums out there, it boggles the damn mind. Street Fighter is such a great game series. They decided to make a movie based on Street Fighter II, and they called it Street Fighter. Looking at this name…is it supposed to be a prequel to the game? Is it somehow … Continue reading "What the Crap?: Street Fighter the Movie the Game the Article the Sequel?"
