Dear Readers: The Janish.

Notice anything... oh, I don't know, different, about this month's issue? The snowy background? The "weathered" (tee hee) logo? The extended Table of Contents, the luscious staff photos, anything? Well regardless of how perceptive you are, this issue, dearest readers, is a special issue. A damn special issue. This issue is not only the first issue of 2003, but the first of our second volume, and as such is our biggest issue yet.

Dear Readers,

Notice anything… oh, I don’t know, different, about this month’s issue?  The snowy background?  The “weathered” (tee hee) logo?  The extended Table of Contents, the luscious staff photos, anything?  Well regardless of how perceptive you are, this issue, dearest readers, is a special issue.  A damn special issue.  This issue is not only the first issue of 2003, but the first of our second volume, and as such is our biggest issue yet.

For starters we’ve got three guest reviews, which will remain exclusive to the New Year’s Awards Special until further notice.  So don’t send us any until next December.  We’ve also got a brand new monthly “Submissions” section — that’s where you send us stuff.  Fan mail, drawings, short stories, poetry, still shots of your Sonic the Hedgehog interpretive dance, whatever tickles your fancy.  The GameCola staff will be putting there own stuff in there too once we get off our lazy asses, so you could even just follow our lead.  Then there’s our advanced Top 10 section.  From this point on, GameCola accepts both your Top 10 favorite and least-favorite games lists.  However, only in the New Year’s Awards Special will both appear at the same time.  Also we’ve got another brand new monthly section, this one entitled “Gaming Milestones”.  A suggestion from our Graphics Editor, Gaming Milestones takes a look at important points in gaming history, whether it be a release, an event, a hiring, or whatever.  This month’s article has been done by a free-lance writer, but after this they’ll probably be done by any given staff member.  So don’t send us any ever, unless I say to.  And of course there’s our first ever annual awards ceremony, to which we’ve been alluding for months, the thrilling conclusion to our SwordQuest saga, and finally, an epic Loafy Carl three strip-er.

Oh, and we’re also giving away free shit.  So you might wanna check the new contest out.

So sit back, relax, take a breather, cool down, lay back, kick your feet up, lean back in your chair, get some R ‘n’ R, take your clothes off and play Twister, or whatever it is you people do to relax, and immerse yourself in that which is GameCola’s First Annual New Year’s Awards Special.

And don’t forget to mail us your submissions.

Love,

Paul Franzen
