HaloFinally college has arrived, and brought with it new friends, new experiences, and new video games. Freed at last from my brother’s collection, I have a brand-new set of friends whose video games I can play and review.

This month, I joined my good friend Mark for a bout of Halo on Xbox. This, most certainly, was not the type of game that I usually enjoy. From the first alien-blasting moment to the last, I found myself fumbling at the controls in my vain attempts to shoot extraterrestrials to smithereens. Xbox seemed to have very complex controllers, and the awkward combinations of buttons to switch guns, aim, and shoot were quite difficult for me.

The aliens didn’t really even look like aliens. We played in two-player mode, as a team, apparently, and I had trouble distinguishing between the aliens and my teammates. But I could be just video-game challenged.

Expect a detailed explanation of The Sims 2 for PC next month, as it’s occupied so much of my time that I cannot possibly eat, think, breathe, or study.
