Trading Card Game that Needs a Yu-Gi-Oh: Nightmare Troubadour-style Videogame for the DS of the Month:
Magic: The Gathering

Hey hey hey! Filling in for the elusive Mr. Gardner this month will be me, Eric Regan: creator of THE AWESOME.

Handheld systems are a GOOD idea. No one is disputing this. However, not every kind of game works on handheld systems. Ever trying playing a FPS on one? Yeah, not so fun. RPGs? Eh, theywork like on any system. Action games? stuffyWell, those are kind of hit-and-miss. Platformers? Ehhh, no thank you! But one type of game that ALWAYS works the way that it should is card games, and no, not poker. Poker is never fun no matter WHAT you think!

So, yeah, TRADING card games, they are fun! But what is up with all that, like, cardboard and stuff they require! Sooo much work to lug around! AND store! Jeez, I’m not a homeowner over here—I need BETTER options. Trading card games transfer very well into handheld console games. Sadly, only Yu-Gi-Oh and a host of not-real-made-for-said-handheld-device games are what you will find when looking for these amazing handheld treats!

OK, so why doesn’t the BEST trading card game around, MAGIC: THE GATHERING, have a snazzy handheld game! IT WOULD SELL MILLIONS! MILLIONS! It needs to happen! Just look at all those zombie-like crazed Yu-Gi-Oh fans! I personally think it would be a great thing. More people would be able to learn how to play the game. More people would be able to play the game better. More people is always better! So why haven’t they made so an amazing game yet?! What are they waiting for! They NEED to capitalize on this pronto, before all those Yu-Gi-Oh kids get any less impressionable!

Oh? What’s that? They are too busy suckering fools out of their cash money with Magic: Online? A snazzy handheld game would make them lose untold fortunes? All I can say is…HELLA LAME.
