I love the smell of a new Ace Attorney trailer in the morning.
Did anyone catch the returners? (Hint: They’re near the end.)
That’s right, featured in some screenshots are Klavier Gavin, which hints to Apollo’s character being fleshed out more, and an older Pearl Fey, which begs the question: Where the heck is Maya? At least having Pearl means they’ll probably at least mention her…right? I’m holding out that they’re saving her for some kind of cameo. (Fingers crossed.)
Anyways, this was an intriguing trailer for multiple reasons. First, it seemed to introduce some kind of story, with Apollo’s line, “What if the truth you’re pursuing is different from the truth I’m pursuing?” Perhaps there is more going on under the surface. Or Apollo’s just being moody again.
Second, we got a first look at the animated cutscenes and they are beautiful. Enough said.
Reading over the summary of an interview with Satoru Iwata, I confirmed that in addition to utilizing Athena’s psychology stuff, we’ll still be able to use Phoenix’s Magatama and Apollo’s senses. Another fun fact: this is the first game to be rated 15+ in Japan.
And the end. Do I even need to talk about the end? When the logo appeared I was about to complain about the lack of Edgeworth, but…
I cannot wait.
That picture of Edgeworth on the home page, it’s saddling me with these unnecessary…feelings.

Apollo is being a Moody McWhinypants. He shouldn’t disagree with Phoenix, just because he was nearly killed and turned into a pirate. Then again, maybe Apollo is mad, because Phoenix is going back to his old drinking habits.
On a random side note, is Phoenix EVER going to tell Apollo who his parents are?
Maybe that’s why he’s moody. He’s in denial or something.

I think so… Not positive on that. I’ll do a bit more research before my next article.
