Civ IIIThis month, I will be discussing Civilization III, which is an awesome strategy game. The objective of this game is undefined; it is an open-ended quest to gain as much power as possible. There are many ways to win, such as by having a cultural civilization, or a military one that kills everyone, or you can even colonize a nearby planet! When you win, you can end it and stop playing, or continue with your game. Scores are entered in a score list maintained within the game itself.

This game is seriously kick-ass. I had so much fun playing it. It’s addictive, totally pulls you in, and you get so wrapped up in building your empire and kicking other peoples’ asses that you will never want to stop playing. Your grades will plummet. Your eyes will glaze over. You will know no other existence besides the glow of your computer screen, populated by thousands of tiny antlike creatures that you can control — a harem, if you will. In short, this is everything you could want in a video game (if you have a power complex); and I have a Napoleonic complex, being short of stature but large of soul, and the game was all I could ever ask for.

Go pick it up!
