Welcome to “The Grass is Always…”, where two people play a game and record their humorous commentary. Previously, we recorded the commentary by writing it down, but this month, we ventured into the world of VIDEO COMMENTARY! That’s right, you can now watch what’s happening in the game and hear what the GameCola staff members are saying while they play.
This month, we have seven videos of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time for the Wii. It’s played by Michael Gray and Michael Ridgaway, even though they’re in different time zones, thanks to the Internet connectivity feature in this game. Enjoy!
(If you don’t feel like watching us playing Crystal Chronicles for a little over an hour, skip to the end of this column, where you can read just the funniest things we said.)
Character in Game: Not Eryll! I never thought she’d succumb to the Crystal Sickness! …Although, she is about that age…
Michael R.: Is the Crystal Sickness their word for “periods”?
Character in Game: You must get me the horn of a Buffasaur.
Michael R.: But Bulbasaur has a flower on top of it, not a horn!
Michael G.: This isn’t Pokémon.
When we fought enemies…
Michael R.: Squirrels!
Michael G.: Flying bats with wings!
Michael R.: Did you just say “flying bats with wings”? Because bats fly, and they have wings. That’s what they do.
Michael G.: No, they don’t.
Michael R.: It’s pretty fundamental of what it is to be a bat.
Michael G.: Batman doesn’t have wings.
Michael R.: Well, he’s not a real bat. He is Bat-MAN.
Michael G.: You take the one road and I’ll take the other.
Michael R.: There’s only one road!
Michael G.: I…I thought the road diverged into a path.
Michael R.: It’s not a Robert Frost poem.
