Scott wins. I don’t know if I actually want to see the Scott Pilgrim movie or not, but this trailer of the upcoming game based on the movie…based on the comic book…which appears to be in part based on classic videogames…looks way better than anything with that many stacked “based on”s has any right to be. It’s River City Ransom meets Castle Crashers meets self-awareness, complete with four-player co-op, chiptunes, coins falling out of the bad guys, and the same exact heavy-breathing animation that every single one of these games had back in the 90s, and don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about, because you do.
Games like KotOR, LEGO Star Wars, and Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island have already shown us that licensed games don’t necessarily have to be massive-oil-spill-style tragedies; will this be the game to show us that licensed games can actually be good independent of their licenses?

I don’t know if it’s possible to quantify how AMAZING Paul Robertson’s pixel art is. Be warned, lots of boobs -> http://probertson.livejournal.com/
