I mean, exactly. Watch this new trailer, and tell me that’s not the first thing you think, too:
I think the way the knight can deflect fireballs with his shield in different directions might be new; but judging by this trailer, that’s the only thing that’s different about Trine 2.
That said, it doesn’t really matter, since the original Trine is a beautiful, fun, wonderful game. Trine 2 could be a glorified DLC pack, and it’d still be awesome. Plus, a recent post on Joystiq says there will be some new things to look forward to, too, like new abilities, a new upgrade system, a New Game + mode, a longer story, and, finally, online co-op, which was depressingly missing from the original Trine, in addition to basically every other game you’d ever want to play online. (Yes, I’m still bitter about Scott Pilgrim.)
But seriously—you could tell me this was a trailer for the first game, and I’d have no idea you were a big liar.
