Seems like it might’ve even lost some of the goofy sound effects that were so pervasive before! Trine 2 is the sequel to our 2009 Best Downloadable Game, and it’s a mystical three-player side-scrolling romp with swords and monsters, grappling hooks, and a wizard that can create boxes and platforms out of thin air and drop them on people hilariously. It’s coming out later this year for PSN, XBLA, PC and Mac, and I can’t wait.

  1. The original was definitely best as a co-op experience, if it makes a difference. It’s another one of those games (like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, like all the LEGO games) that’s probably not half as fun in single-player.

  2. ^ In my experience with new super mario bros. wii, My Friends and I always get mad at each other, haha. ._.

  3. Had superb fun with the original Trine on 2-player until the final level, which was an abortion and caused us to drop the game like a stone.

  4. Yeah, you know, I think it took us like two-plus hours of doing nothing but playing that level to actually beat that level. No fun was had. I’m not sure why we did it.
