By the way, Christian, you will notice that at 5:23 in the same video, Luigi pronounces Mario’s name the proper way. I think Mario’s the only one who’s saying it wrong.

I don’t see how Mario 64 is any more canon than this commercial. AND THIS ONE CAME FIRST.
The narrator guy could have said it wrong, like a crusty old announcer guy would be expected to, but Mario knows his own name. 100% canon.

It should be pronounced like the official cereal of a genuine Canadian, as in Murray-Os.
