So for those of you who do not follow me, @acefangirl, on Twitter, I recently dragged five of my friends to the Zero Escape-themed escape room located at Real Escape Game in Los Angeles. Of my five friends, only one has played any of the series—that one being 999 and the only ending she got was the ax ending. Make of that what you will.
Because the game is still relatively recent, I’m sworn to secrecy on the details, but after it’s over I’ll definitely do a breakdown of the entire room and all of the puzzles. All I can say for now is that my friend Maddie and I were the first (and only) ones to escape out of our individual room on our own, before being given permission to help our fellow captives. It was very kind of them to give us a full walkthrough afterwards and I look forward to sharing it all once the room stops running. It was so much fun and it was definitely a huge adrenaline rush—we couldn’t stop talking about it at lunch afterward! If you’re anywhere near LA, please go check this out. You don’t have to know anything about the games, but coming from someone who knows virtually everything about them, I got a real kick out of it.
There’s one question that logically follows from all of this…did we escape?!
Well…
Not exactly.
Here’s a few more photos I’m allowed to share—they were very careful about not revealing ANYTHING even potentially spoiler-y in photos. I’ll see you again in a month or so for a full breakdown—it was literally something out of the game.
Our whole group…right after we ran out of time.
The bracelets were LEGIT. You can see I have my merch on, too, and since I was one of the people who wanted an EXTRA CHALLENGE, I had a bracelet on both wrists, which basically just meant there were only two people in my puzzle room.
Me, Noelle, and Maddie showing off our deadly bling. I kinda wanted to keep it.
And of course, I couldn’t miss out on THIS photo op.
Good news and bad news.
Good news, the game is extended and is going on for longer, at least through mid-August, through my random clicking on a date to see if it was open! So go play for yourself, if you can!
Bad news, that means the full walkthrough has to wait. I won’t say a word until I know the game is completely done.
