Winner of the New Art Form of the Month of the Month: Paul Franzen!
Paul is the winner! That’s right, I’ve spent this entire month judging all of the entries into this illustrious competition, and our Editor in Chief himself, Mr. Paul M. Franzen, is the illustrious champion! Illustrious congratulations, Paul! (Please note that Paul Franzen did not get extra points just for having a CaW of me. Seriously, he won entirely without suckup points!)
Your prize is a very special one indeed. You will be immortalized in Soulcalibur IV, in the form of a very special, limited-edition custom character. I hope to be able to figure out how to take a video of this character in the ending cinematic, and post it on our illustrious blog, but I at LEAST have to be able to post some pictures of the creation by next month’s special installment of otM. I’ve never actually done something like that, so if anyone has tips/things-I-need-to-know for making videos and such, let me know.
What I need from YOU, Paul, is a few details of what you want your character to look like. Final artistic choices will, of course, be left up to me, but there are a few things you can choose. First, what sort of weapon would you like to be wielding? Giant Sword, Katana, Dual Swords, Giant Hammer/Mace, Rapier, Sword-in-an-umbrella, Tonfas, etc. etc. Ask me for specifics if you want to know exactly what each of the options is. Sorry; no lightsaber. Second, what sort of armor style would you prefer? Full heavy armor, heavy armor with no helm, light armor, naked? Again, I can give you specific details about armors if you want. Third, and finally, though this does not affect your look, what alignment are you? Good, Evil, or Neutral. That should be it, but I’ll let you know if there’s anything else you can voice your opinion on before the final illustrious creation is released upon the world.
Let this be a lesson to all of you slackers: There is nothing greater than being immortalized in Soulcalibur IV, and you too could’ve had a chance had you not been a dirty slacker and not submitted any awesome creations! Next time, you be sure to KNOW things, and POST them. Who knows what next amazing treasure you might miss out on?
