GameCola writer and International Man of Misery Meteo Xavier may be taking a small hiatus from writing, but he certainly hasn’t been resting on what remains of his charred and broken body. Our good friend, Meteo X! Born from the infusion of artichoke DNA spliced with a 45-year old toothbrush and the topic of seven or eight case studies at UCLA, got his first remix posted onto the very wonderful OCRemix last December. If you don’t know the site, OCRemix is a breeding ground for only the best and top quality of videogame remixes on the Internet. Getting a remix posted onto the site is a very great honor, and we at GC are very proud of Meteo’s achievement.

The remix is two parts Valkyrie Profile and one part Star Ocean: The Second Story. Titled “Yggdrasil Speaks to Me,” Meteo has taken a couple of already wonderful pieces from Enix’s PS1 tales, and makes them into a beautiful, ambient orchestral suite. Guitar, strings, horns, and an intoxicating piano melody await the listener, and I say this not only because Meteo’s my co-worker and friend, but this is steadily becoming one of my favorite arrangements from the site. If you’re in need of some awesome new music, and you haven’t browsed OCRemix for all it’s worth like I have, this is a nice starting point. Great job, Meteo.

Any remixes you want to share with the world? Want to kick Meteo in the face? Share your opinions in the comments!
