IT’S REALLLLLLLL! OH, MY STARS AND STRIPES IT’S REALLLLLLLL! I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAPPEN BUT IT’S REALLLLLLLL! WATCH THE TRAILER! JUST WATCH IT!
Seriously, this is the greatest day of my life. Forget my high school graduation, or my first days at college, or any accomplishment I’ve ever made in the world. Let it be known that this day, April 20th, 2010, will forever be known as the day Capcom graced the world with the announcement of what is going to be the game that will truly separate me from the rest of the world for a few good months when it comes out in Spring 2011. I mean, it’s not like there’s anything else to do on a day like 4/20.
Characters confirmed in the trailer include Wolverine, Iron Man, and the jolly-green Hulk on the Marvel side, and Ryu, Morrigan, and the trailer’s big reveal, Resident Evil’s Chris Redfield. Also, taking a look at the silhouettes that appear behind the company logos, it would be my guess that Chun-Li, Viewtiful Joe, Dante, and Frank MOTHERFUCKING West will also be on the Capcom side, and Captain America, Dr. Doom, Deadpool and Super-Skrull (SQUEEEEE) will be helping out the Marvel side. If the character totals go anywhere beyond what was offered in MvC2, we could be looking at the greatest line-up in a fighting game…ever.
The art style looks absolutely amazing—like Street Fighter IV meets with a comic book. A lot of the sounds and visuals seem to be taken right from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, which is never a bad thing. Alls I know is that we’ve got another year to go before we get some MvC3 spinnin’ in our 360s and PS3s, and until then, my speculation is going to be endless.
Oh, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 was announced, too. Shiny! You can see its trailer here.
Oh, right. Hi everybody! I’m back!
