Via Joystiq, Atari has announced that it’s working on a new Ghostbusters game, subtitled Sanctum of Slime, to be released on XBLA, PSN, and the PC next year. A sort-of follow-up to last year’s The Video Game, Sanctum of Slime is being developed by Assault Heroes creator Wanako, and it’s purported to be a four-player (online and offline) co-op action game about a rag-tag squad of space marines who don’t play by the rules who need to destroy the evil empire before the world collapses in on itself. I mean, busting ghosts.
None of the original actors will be performing in this game, most likely because Bill Murray couldn’t be roused from the nap he took during recording sessions for the last one. Look for the game to drop on a download service near you next spring.
