Cave StoryHypothetical: The GameCola YouTube channel is suddenly flourishing with new content from a wide variety of contributors. As GameCola’s fearless YouTube Administrator, you should (pick one)…

(A) post about these exciting additions in a timely fashion, unless the video creators beat you to it;

(B) give the videos a few weeks to breathe before posting about them for the benefit of latecomers; or

(C) write about year-old podcast videos.

Obviously I’m the kind of YouTube administrator who chooses (C). That’s precisely why I’m not allowed to administrate the main GameCola website—we’d still be posting about games from 1991, like Dr. Wily’s Revenge.

Shoot.

Well, it looks like I’ll need to speed up my coverage of older material if I’m ever gonna be an (A)-rank administrator (OK, a (B)-rank administrator. Let’s be realistic). So, in lieu of a proper description of what’s in store for you with this video adaptation of Podcast #35, I’ll simply leave you with three embedded videos and a link to the full video playlist, where you can watch more of this playthrough of Cave Story that accompanies our discussion of difficulty in adventure games, episodic gaming, guilty pleasure games, gaming in China, and more, starring Alex Jedraszczak, Paul Franzen, Nathaniel Hoover, Colin Greenhalgh, Christian Porter, and David Donovan.

…Double shoot.

About the Contributor

Since 2009

Nathaniel Hoover is almost certainly GameCola's most verbose staff member, and arguably the most eclectic. As administrator of the GameCola YouTube channel (GCDotNet), occasional contributor to every article category on the site, and staff editor, you're pretty much stuck with him wherever you go. Sorry.

  1. I was attracted here by the “Wait, Cave Story on my GameCola?!”, and then I stayed to figure out if Cave Story was actually mentioned in the podcast. I don’t think it was, but now I’m listening! And, regretting that I didn’t buy a better microphone sooner.

    Also worthy of note… The first part got 234 views, but the last segment only got 59. Dag, yo.
