Recently, the videogame police stopped by my house, and they threatened to steal my “adventure game fan” badge, if I didn’t play The Secret of Monkey Island. TSoMI is supposed to be the greatest adventure game of all time, so I picked up my iPad and played through the demo.
Forty minutes of me playing Monkey Island for the first time? Sounds great! What could possibly go wrong?
…Apparently, a lot.
I think I spent 80% of the demo in a state of perpetual bewilderment. It doesn’t help that the demo only covers five screens, meaning that you can start puzzles, but you can’t actually finish any. But people seem amused by my failure, nonetheless.
