That’s right, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is available on the Japanese eShop right now. It’s been six years since an Ace Attorney game was released, but now the wait is almost over! Can you believe it?! We can expect it to hit North America (and possibly Europe) anywhere from the end of September to the end of December.

… Oh goodness, what am I going to write about when this is all over?

      1. It’s not ‘officially’ confirmed, but rumor has it… according to a few statements made by the developer, it’s very likely, but not definite.

    1. Maya does NOT appear in person. She sends Phoenix a LETTER from whatever bus she’s been on for the last 8 years. A sepia toned picture of her teenaged back in the old days is shown while Phoenix remembers who she is. She hasn’t seen him in person for many months (maybe longer). In other words they couldn’t be bothered drawing her older or anything else.

      1. That’s what I figured. As I’ve said before, it doesn’t surprise me. Her story was wrapped up fairly well in T&T, so… I guess we can’t have it all.

      2. Appreciate you clearing that up, passing by; thanks.

Wonder if they only included her at all because of all the fan uproar…

  1. The two things I’m curious about are Phoenix’s last will, and the M rating. If the game is called Dual Destinies, does that refer to Phoenix and Apollo or Athena and Apollo? Before, I thought it was the first one, but the new investigation trailer has me worried…

    1. As far as I can tell, it’ll be different for each case. I know there is one case where you are playing as Athena, at least for some point, so it’s kind of up in the air, I guess. I also read in an interview that the ending is supposed to be really good. So maybe that’ll help answer your question.
As for Phoenix’s last will, he does show up in Case 3, so unless they’re pulling an Investigations and putting all the cases out of order, I think he’ll be okay. And the M rating… I would guess it’s because the blood and bodies are looking more real? Maybe investigating dead bodies in 3D has pushed the rating up a notch.

    2. Re: the M rating, I read somewhere that it has more to do with changing standards at the ESRB than it has to with the game being a blood-soaked gorefest… Although, I think that post might’ve just been speculative. Hopefully we can find out soon!
