On December 17th, RPG company Square Enix announced that they are trying to break into the point-and-click adventure genre! The game is called Life Is Strange, which is what everyone said when they heard the news.
The game is described as a plot-heavy narrative which will “revolutionize story-based choice and consequence games”. You would never be able to guess that from the trailer, which contains no dialogue whatsoever.
Here’s the story they didn’t mention: You play as a high school senior named Max, who has the ability to rewind time. Also, she has psychic visions of the future. She wants to use her powers to stop her friend’s murder and save a kidnapped student. No one told the developers that this is the same plot as Time Hollow and that Michael Bay movie coming out next year.
This will be an episodic game, and below is how much it costs. You’ll notice that it costs more if you’re one of those gamers who wants to try out the first episode before buying the other four.
- Life Is Strange Episode 1 $4.99
- Life Is Strange Season Pass (Episodes 2-5) $16.99
- Life Is Strange Complete Season (Episodes 1-5) $19.99
On a positive note, it has been confirmed that two-thirds of the game’s developers have beards. There is hope for this game yet!
Not bad at all, you can see a butterfly and the “eye” (minute 1:02) right from the trailer itself!
