I’m baaaaack…
Joke’s on you if you thought that last podcast ACTUALLY got all the Ace Attorney out of my system. I’m the Ace Fangirl. That’s cute.
Today I’m here to talk about something a little different. As you all know, I’m an avid fan of many LPers on YouTube and as of the last few years, many of them have been picking up Ace Attorney for the very first time. There’s something magical about watching someone play the game blind—when they get excited, you get excited; when they get angry at a culprit (or a logic flaw), you get angry. It’s like you experience all of the emotions you felt on your first playthrough again, and to me, that’s something really special.
So, today I’m going to walk you through what I consider to be the best BLIND Ace Attorney playthroughs that I’ve seen. These are not ranked in any particular order, but I do recommend that you check them all out if you need an Ace Attorney fix. All of them are special in their own way and I have immense respect for every one of these YouTubers.
1. Video Games Awesome (farfromsubtle)
Games Played: Ace Attorney, Justice For All, Trials and Tribulations, Apollo Justice (incomplete as of writing, but the next stream should finish off the game)
Humor: Hilarious, but definitely a bit NSFW at times. Watch with caution, and maybe with a stiff drink.
How I Found Them: This series was actually the first I watched from these guys and I immediately fell in love—so much so that I’m now a Turbo in their chatroom (look for me around the tail end of Trials and Tribulations). If you’re the kind of person who gets mad at Ace Attorney sometimes, this is your show. Fraser is hilarious when he’s angry. And obviously, the costumes are on point. Be prepared for hilarious voices and generally a good time.
2. SuperJeenius
Games Played: Ace Attorney
Humor: Completely SFW. Hearing him figure things out is always fun.
How I Found Them: Jake was the first major YouTuber I saw take a stab at doing Ace Attorney blind, and honestly, it worked really well. That was the first time I truly re-experienced all of the emotions that I’d had the first time I played Ace Attorney, and honestly, Jake did really well. It was definitely an adventure, and a really fun one at that.
3. NintendoCapriSun
Games Played: Ace Attorney (Cases 4-5), Justice for All, Trials and Tribulations, Apollo Justice, Investigations (in progress)
Humor: Let’s be honest, Tim’s humor takes some getting used to. I’ll leave you to experience it for yourself, but I love him.
How I Found Them: Tim started posting his own blind playthrough right as Jake finished up Case 3 of Ace Attorney—in effect, he continued from where Jake was to keep it blind. And then he just kept going. Honestly, Tim does fantastic with the puzzles and the logic and his crazy theories are the best part. I adore his playthroughs for that reason alone, but he is phenomenal.
4. Lucahjin
Games Played: Ace Attorney
Humor: Lady Lucah can be a tad NSFW sometimes, so keep a pair of headphones in, for safety’s sake. It’s nothing too bad, promise.
How I Found Them: Lucahjin is one of my biggest inspirations as an LPer myself. She’s played Hatoful Boyfriend, she’s played Dandelion, and once she started playing Ace Attorney, I was so proud. She actually has a very, very clean run—surprisingly so. But, the emotions that I experienced again with her were so intense and real, it was insane. I knew what was coming, but I reacted with her. Her playthrough as a whole was fantastic and I would highly recommend it to all fans, old and new. Now if only she would stop trying to steal my man…
So if you need a little Ace Attorney in your day, I have four excellent options for you. I promise, you won’t go wrong with any one of them. Fangirl out.
