If you’re like me, you’re excited about the new Professor Layton game: Professor Layton and the Devil’s Box. Wait, what’s that? They changed the name to Diabolical Box? Oh, well. It’ll still be awesome.

One of the reasons why I’m excited about this game is that it comes with a password that unlocks bonus content in the first game. It’s been brutal seeing the “Sorry! You can’t do that until you get the password from the second game!” screen for two years, especially since an English translation of the second game was not confirmed until two months ago.

So, naturally, the first thing I did when I got the new game was flip to page 37 of the manual, which contains the password: 7D1F7C7B. I entered that password into the first game and…

“The password you have entered is incorrect.”

…I am rather upset about this.

In other Professor Layton news, I wrote a one-page fanfic called Professor Layton Reads a Bedtime Story, which has proven to be somewhat popular, so all you Layton fans can read and enjoy!
