About nine months ago, I wrote a short Professor Layton story. A lot of people liked it, and recently, someone translated it into French.

Now, I don’t read French myself, so I had to rely on an Internet translator to double-check the translation. Here are some of the sentences that appeared in the computer’s translation:

  • Thanks a lot. I am tide, I admit.
  • I do not see where is the problem… thought Flora.
  • How do you build fences to a minimum?

However, Professor Layton’s catchphrase—”Critical thinking is the key to success”—came through completely intact. So it is probably the most accurate translation ever. As they say in France, Oui, oui, le fromage c’est sur la table, or “When is the timing of snacks?”.
