bttfdec22Finally! For months now, the release date for Back to the Future: The Game: Episode 1 has just been “December 2010”; in fact, that actually remained the release date for about half of December itself, until a couple days ago, when Telltale announced that the PC and Mac versions of the game will be released next Wednesday, December 22nd, digitally through Telltale’s website. (If you pre-order now, there’s still time to get a free download of Puzzle Agent, too!)

Concurrently, they’ve also been showing off a bunch of new gameplay videos. There’s this one, featuring Doc Brown (including footage of 17-year old awkward Doc Brown!):

(Note: Despite what the entire Internet has been reporting, that’s not actually Christopher Lloyd playing young Doc Brown. It’s James Arnold Taylor, aka the voice of Tidus from Final Fantasy X, Ratchet from Ratchet and Clank, and, coincidentally, the voice of Milo in the sequel to Disney’s Atlantis—a role that was originally played by Michael J. Fox.)

There’s also this one, focusing on Marty McFly:

And, this one! This one feature’s Biff Tannen’s father, a bootlegger/mobster in the 1930s. The video hasn’t been posted to YouTube yet, so I can’t embed it here. I can, however, embedded this video of Tom Wilson doing stand-up with a guitar:

Next week!!! That means there’s less than a week left of me posting Back to the Future news to the exclusion of everything else, like this depressing update on the Indie Games Winter Uprising. Of course…I won’t be playing it next week, because I’m still holding out for the PS3 version, whose release date hasn’t been announced yet. I can be patient. I’d rather not have this experience be marred by Telltale’s horrible horrible PC controls.
