We here at GameCola get requests from our readers every now and then. Recently, somebody recommended that GameCola do a video walkthrough for My Neighbor Girl, which is, quote, “a fun Japanese FMV game.” He said it would quickly become one of our favorite games of all time.
He was lying. You thought the voices in 999-2 were bad? You haven’t seen anything yet.
This is, no joke, the picture used to promote the game on iTunes.
My Neighbor Girl is a dating sim, with only one girl you can pursue. Gameplay involves doing romantic activities, such as studying history or studying math. Sometimes, you even study for a science test! With great dates like these, it’s hard to believe that our hero is still single by the end of the video.
Paul Franzen and Michael Gray provide commentary for this game’s demo, which was expertly localized by Google Translate. Sadly, the other games in the series have not yet been translated into English.
This game’s grammar makes me sick. *curls up in corner and rocks back and forth until pain goes away.* The game seems boring. The story line is something you could use for a book or movie (with more added, of course), but for a game, that’s just dull.
