Podcasts 30-31 BannerIf you’ve been keeping track of our posts about installments of “The GameCola Podcast” being uploaded to YouTube, you’ll notice that the numbering has been all over the place. We started with #13, skipped over a whole section to get to #32, made it as far as #56 before jumping back to #1, and then proceeded to fill in with whatever else was missing from there. The two podcasts below represent a restoration of sanity, the last two podcasts necessary to bridge the gap between the ones we have and have not written about. From here on out, it’s sensible, chronological sailing from #57 to infinity. Assuming we post #57 at all; something tells me that “fair use” only applies as long as it doesn’t involve any amount of audio from the Spike TV Video Game Awards.

These two podcasts feature some combination of Alex “Power Bomb” Jedraszczak, Christian “Long Beam” Porter, Mark “Echo Visor” Freedman, Matt “Spider Ball” Jonas, Mike “Super Missile” Ridgaway, Nathaniel “Ice Spreader” Hoover, and Paul “I Thought We Were Talking About Ninja Turtles” Franzen discussing the entire Metroid series and/or examining the portrayal of young and old in videogames. I’ll let you guess which podcast is which.

Hint: They’re exactly which ones you think they are.

About the Contributor

Nathaniel Hoover is almost certainly GameCola's most verbose staff member, and arguably the most eclectic. As administrator of the GameCola YouTube channel (GCDotNet), occasional contributor to every article category on the site, and staff editor, you're pretty much stuck with him wherever you go. Sorry.

  1. I endorse the metroidcast. It’s just amazing that it’s been about 6 years since Other M (or has it been 5?) that they’ve finally announced a spin-off at least of the series. And as long as the game has a substantial single-player mode, I shall be getting it for sure.
