Larry Hyrb, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson, has posted a blog entry confirming the existence of an Xbox Live version of Sonic CD, which I (and many other Sonic fans) consider to be one of the best games in the franchise.
If you’re too lazy to give Larry a page-hit, here’s the important part of what he said:
Mass Effect 3 has landed…in the Xbox 360 booth! Come on by to check it out, along with a slew of Xbox LIVE Arcade titles: Trials Evolution, Skulls of the Shogun, Crimson Alliance, Splatters, Orcs Must Die, Ms. Splosion Man, Retro City Rampage, Sonic CD, War of the Worlds and Trine 2.
How would you make a game out of War of the Worlds? Well, I know that the chances of anything coming from Mars are a million-to-one, but those happen to be the same odds I would have put on waking up to the news that Sonic CD is finally going to recieve some bloody recognition.
However, it’s not all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. When Sonic CD was released as part of Sonic Gems Collection, the European version contained the American soundtrack. While that soundtrack isn’t bad, I consider it inferior. If Sega balls this up again, I’m going to go on a Retro City Rampage. I’m Trine 2 hold back my anger, but if this port doesn’t do the game justice, there will be Splatters at Sega HQ.
Blood Splatters.
Oh man, that’s even better than my Trine puns! Well done!
