If LucasArts alums Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert are getting together to make another adventure game, then it’s only fair that their former Sierra rivals/counterparts/people completely different who shouldn’t be compared at all should get another crack at the adventure game scene together as well. Ladies and gentleorats, I am stupidly excited to say that Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy, the Two Guys from Andromeda, have reunited to create another adventure game that’s probably going to give me death message nightmares for the next decade.
Terrifying.
Best known for their work on the beloved Space Quest series, Murphy and Crowe have spent the last however-many-years-it’s-been-since-the-’90s working apart, the victims of another one of those entertainment duo breakups that I actually know something about but am too hungry to recount for you right now. Suffice it to say, I was counting on a Laurel & Hardy reunion before seeing the Two Guys don their pig snouts again.

Oh, wait! Not that link! This link! I’m so sorry—I hope you saved.
As much as I’ve been saying “See? Adventure games AREN’T DEAD!” for the past couple of years, I think finally–with Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert, Jane Jenson, Al Lowe, and now the Space Quest guys all working on new games–it’s indisputable.
Also Tex Murphy! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/texmurphy/tex-murphy-project-fedora
Have you ever played Under a Killing Moon? I have that on its way from Goozex and I don’t really know what I’m getting myself into.
