Were there always this many videogame conventions? How do the speakers at these things find enough time to actually make anything?
From this year’s aptly titled “Gamescom” (which is a con about games), a few trailers popped up that are both wonderful, beautiful, and the complete opposite of one another in every possible way. First up, there’s Giant Sparrow’s The Unfinished Swan (or as I originally typed it, The Unifhisned Swan), an upcoming PS3 game about exploring the unknown, where a young boy with a paint bucket tries to bring definition back to his empty world:
And on the other (fiery burning) hand, there’s the future GameCola Game of the Year TANK! TANK! TANK!, a Wii U launch title in which you blow up giant robots with your friends and family, and I believe put pictures of your faces on things.
Between these two extremes, the rest of all videogames lie.
