It’s poll time, everybody: What’s your favorite kind of content on GameCola? I’m not talking about articles written by specific people; no need to identify your favorite staff writer. I’m talking about whether you come here for the podcasts or for the columns. I’m talking about whether you like reviews short and punchy or longwinded and detailed. That’s what I’m talking about.

See, the Top Articles link in the sidebar and that tiny rating meter at the bottom of each post don’t really convey how much you like our posts; it just lets us know who’s cheating and voting for themselves. This poll is a chance to tell us exactly what kind of content you like and would like to see more of. Not that we’re obligated to listen to you, but it’s nice to have a feel for what works if we’re ever torn about which way to go with a post. It also helps to explain our baffling popularity (or lack thereof).

So, what’ll it be? Subtle humor, or over-the-top ridiculousness? A fresh spin on games you know all about, or coverage of things you’ve never seen? We’re not doing this for an ego massage, and we’re not looking to hear what you don’t like; heck, there’s no “we” involved, ‘cuz I’m really the only one who’s asking. But still. Tell us about your favorite kind of carbonated content on GameCola, or we’ll make an empty threat.

Nathaniel Hoover is almost certainly GameCola's most verbose staff member, and arguably the most eclectic. As administrator of the GameCola YouTube channel (GCDotNet), occasional contributor to every article category on the site, and staff editor, you're pretty much stuck with him wherever you go. Sorry.

  1. Hey, I take offense to that! I don’t constantly vote for myself! I just bother my friends enough so they do it for me.

  2. Brilliant. We don’t actually have any readers anymore. I’m impressed with myself that I managed to bore the last remaining few to death over the span of a mere three paragraphs. There’s gotta be an achievement for that somewhere.

  3. No need to harm any small animals!
Personally my favourite thing on GameCola are the Reviews and Columns, and there has been some pretty hilarious comics. I love all the humor in everything whether its over the top or just subtle. Quantum Geek never fails to make me laugh hysterically making everyone in my house wonder if I am sane or not. Basically I love the whole site as rather than sitting in my basement with my SNES all day I can sit on the computer and read about SNES. Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into this site! You’re appreciated! =)

  4. Aw, thank you, Emilie! You have officially made my week. 😀 See, now you’ve got me thinking up comic ideas and new ways to remind Michael Ridgaway to write the next installment of Quantum Geek.

    bt8257: Hooray!

  5. Your welcome Nathaniel! Oh good! I hope you can motivate Michael, I’ve been checking the site every day for the next one! Good luck on the comics =)

  6. I love the columns, the videos, and specifically anything involving the words “Man” and “Mega.” Good job with the site, you guys! Keep on putting out great material!
